Richmond

Richmond is a charming country Georgian village only 15 minutes from the Hobart Airport.
A lovely place warranting more than one night's stay to cover all there is to see.
Relax and allow yourself time to visit the oldest bridge,
Roman Catholic Church and the oldest gaol (in original condition) in Australia
and maybe take in a spooky ghost tour of the town.
You might also want to visit Oak Lodge, Hobart Model Village and the many shops and art galleries.
Richmond is also a great base from which to travel to Hobart, local vineyards, Port Arthur and the East Coast.

The climate here is varied - a local saying is if you don't like the weather, come back in five minutes.
So please bring layers and expect anything...
That's part of the Tasmanian experience!
